Celebrate Fair Trade Month with Us!

October is a busy month, but don’t forget that every fair trade purchase really does make a difference in someone’s life, even if it’s simply splurging a little on your morning coffee or tea, buying a chocolate bar that’s made with fair trade cocoa or giving fair trade wine as a hostess gift. As the holidays approach now is the perfect time to say “I love you” with a special fair trade piece of jewelry that will always remind her of how much you really care.

To celebrate, we are offering 15% off all our merchandise during October, including sale items, to thank our customers for all your support. throughout the years! It’s also a great time to try fair trade merchandise and experience the craftsmanship and quality that’s put into each product. We know you won't be disappointed.

Oceans of Change and a Chic Fair Trade accessory idea. As you know, there are many unfortunate people around the world, who face economic hardship. It is well known that women especially face the burden of poverty. One group facing difficulty close to home is the Mayan women in the Yucatan of Mexico, home to some 7 million Mayans. These women face discrimination and economic hardship because of their indigenous background. There is hope though for these women through the development of their artisan skills and traditional products with access to markets. As part of our mandate to help some 700 Mayan families in the Merida area of Mexico, we work directly with the villagers to offer their handmade Mexican / Mayan hammocks and hand woven Mexican serape blankets, which can be used to add a decorative touch or into serape handbags just to name a few. Through the support in the fair trade of hammocks and serapes produced by these families, they are able to support their families, community development and economic self sufficiency. We are reaching out to like minded groups like yours, to help us help them. If you want to help, please take the information above and post it on your site or blog along with a link to http://www.stylemexican.com where they can read and order hammocks and serapes made directly by the villagers. Thank you for your consideration and support.
