Hot Accessory Trends for Fall 2009

1. Embellishments - Think Bedazzler gone mad. This season look out for buckles, zippers and chain straps on handbags.
2. Bold Statement Jewelry - Big, bold chunky necklaces and earrings that can be worn along or layered.
3. Fake Fur - On collars, pin trim and feather accents.
4. Scarves & Shawls - Big, bold patterns found on ponchos or hooded scarves.
5. Clutch - Large enough to fit all your essentials yet small enough to fit in a tote. Colorful and in various sizes and styles including the envelope, wristlet, flap and snap closure.
6. Shoulder bag - Men's wear look and accessories, i.e. buckles, heavy jewelry.
7. Graphic Jewelry - Geometric shapes, cuffs and rings.
8. Hose/Stocking - Update and old skirt by pairing it with some colorfully patterned knee highs. Mix it up with plaid, patterns, dark shades or monocramatic.
9. Belts - This accessory has become a staple piece over the last few seasons with its ability to update and change the look of an outfit. Pair over cardigans, suits and coats.
10. Hats - Knitted caps, the newsboy and the beret are all practical and stylish on those cold winter days.
11. Gloves - There's no need to get rid of last year's 3/4 length coat just pair it with a great pair of elbow length gloves. This season we see gloves of all lengths and colors including the fingerless glove and arm warmers. If you have a neutral coat then opt for a colorful and striped glove and instantly update your outerwear.
12. Thigh High Boots - All across the runways thigh high boots were seen, but if you're like me and prefer the knee high try pairing them with some funky stockings.
